With millions of people in lockdown and hundreds of thousands of victims of the Covid 19 virus, luxury design is that last thing on most people’s minds. As we’ve seen in the media, designers have stepped up to help the coronavirus cause from making masks and gowns to supporting various charities in the fight against this horrible disease.
For Canadian designer John Fluevog, his decision to join the fight started with the design of a new shoe that honors the work of British Columbia’s top health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry. This two tone patent leather shoe is a limited edition design, with her words “be kind, be calm and be safe” stamped onto the footsock.
In the words of John Fluvog: “At times like these, we’re so fortunate to have someone who is calm and comforting but direct, and positive but realistic, informing and educating us day to day. We always like to find ways to help, and to highlight those who are doing good in our world. To hear about and see that our admiration for Dr. Henry was mutual was just a beautiful cherry on top of an already great idea sundae.”
And the best part of this beautiful shoe is that 100% of the presale profits will go to help support Foodbanks BC. For more information click on the link below.
